Eagles Suffer a Loss in Battle with the Fight
9th June 2015, Tuesday

The NoVA Eagles entered Round 2 of USARL Season V with the momentum of their first victory against the Sharks during the previous week. This week's match against the defending national champions, Philadelphia Fight, proved to be a hard fought battle that ended in the Eagles first loss of the season.

The Eagles were able to strike first, with Charles Agoma scoring his 4th try for the season. The Fight were able to come back and score 14 unanswered points. However, just before the half, Winger (and rugby league rookie) Joseph Wyche, scored his first EVER try, keeping the Eagles close at 14-12 heading into the half.

In the second half, the Fight was able to capitalize on errors made by the Eagles by scoring six more tries after half-time. The Eagles were able to score two more tries (another by Agoma and one by Justin Hackett) making the final 50-22. Man of the Match honors for the Eagles went to Joe Reichert, who is playing in his first season of rugby league, but has proven to be a great asset for the Eagles.
